In this gripping romantic mystery, Jane Aiken Hodge delivers a thriller filled with conspiracies, secrets, and danger. Review After my last disappointing Aiken Hodge historical read, I decided to try something different. This sounded a little like a Mary Stewart suspense crossed with a gothic mystery. Author: Rosamund Hodge. Genre: Fairy-Tale Retelling. Grade: C. I will say I liked the story of this one a lot more than the authors last book, Cruel Beauty. Crimson Bound is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and the Girl with No Hands. Yet in the end the characters seemed like retreads and the “myth” and world-building felt kind of vague. The Hodgeheg by Dick King-Smith is a much-loved classic! Now part of the collectible Puffin Modern Classics series. Max, the hedgehog who becomes a hodgeheg, who becomes a hero! Max's family dreams of reaching the Park. But no one has ever found a safe way of crossing the very busy road. Young Max, who is brighter than the average hedgehog, is determined to 3/5(1). Hodge (cat) Hodge (fl. c) was one of Samuel Johnson's cats, immortalised in a characteristically whimsical passage in James Boswell's Life of Johnson.

In Crimson Bound, Ms. Hodge incorporates a mixture of The Grandmother's Tale (a 14th century French version of Little Red Riding Hood) and The Girl without Hands. Personally, I had never heard of either of these Crimson Bound is a standalone, dark /5.

Hodge (fl. c) was one of Samuel Johnson's cats, Little Hodge book in a characteristically whimsical passage in James Boswell's Little Hodge book of Johnson. Although there is little known about Hodge, such as his life, his death, or any other information, what is known is Johnson's fondness for his cat, which separated Johnson from the views held by others of the eighteenth century.

Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory is opening at last. But only five lucky children will be allowed inside. And the winners are: Augustus Gloop, an enormously fat boy whose hobby is eating; Veruca Salt, a spoiled-rotten brat whose parents are wrapped around her little finger; Violet Beauregarde, a dim-witted gum chewer with the fastest jaws around; Mike Teavee, a toy.

It was fantastically original, with a slight tease of the "Little Red Riding Hood" vibe in as well, which was exciting believe it or not (even though it was very small). But the thrill of the lore never died down like some books do. Rosamund Hodge's book are great.

I read Cruel Beauty by Hodge and I was highly satisfied. The book is entertaining and exciting; it will even keep you guessing the entire way through. Each of the characters is sympathetic, likable, and believable. Once completing this one, readers are eager to pick up more by Brian Hodge, who should be a bigger name within the horror genre.
